TREADMILL’S NEXT ALBUM IS ON THE WAY!

We have to sell 200 CD’s to make this happen.  Please help if you can!

The working title is Southern Gothic, and the record seems to be about a man whose mate has drowned in the Ohio River.  The man retreats to his creepy house in the woods, plants weeds in his driveway to make it disappear, hides hooch under the statues in his lawn, and contemplates what he’s going to do next while going slightly off the rails in reaction to loneliness, regret and wormwood concoctions.  The songs are simple, uncluttered, and kinda good.  Massive departure from i belong to me.

We’ve set up some fun rules for ourselves.  No instruments that need electricity allowed.  Back to basics.  Simplicity and sparseness are king.  “I’d like for it to sound like it was recorded in an 1814 barn with dusty instruments that have been sitting untouched in Neal Young’s root cellar for 40 years.”

Right.  So…   We’ve got some money saved up from gigs and merch.  But we need about 2 grand more to make this happen correctly.  Here’s where you come in.  There are two ways you can help – (if anyone has any other good ideas, we’d sure like to hear ‘em.)

Ways you can help Treadmill’s new record become a reality:

1)  BUY a copy of Southern Gothic in advance.  It will be available digitally for all, but there will only be a few actual CD’s in the world.  And you’ll get it weeks before we release the album.  We’d be darned appreciative if you’d buy one.  If we aren’t able to pull it off- you’ll get a full refund.

2) BUY i belong to me. If you don’t have it yet- please buy it.  It’s really good.  Really.

3) BUY a fabulous Treadmill Tee Shirt

Remember – every dime we make from anything – shows, merch – it all goes to the next project.  Nothing goes in our pockets.  We are a non-profit band.  (what band isn’t?)  If you have any brilliant ideas on how we can generate the cash – we’d sure love to hear them.

(btw – Snow White Snow is still in the works, this is just gonna happen first.)
