Back on the Stupid Treadmill

Ahh, it’s nice to be in a pseudo band that doesn’t really exist that you can just blow off for weeks and months at a time. This is the way it should be. Very relaxing.
I finally got off my ass and put out a press release on our retarded idea on how we’re going to raise money to make this record. Not sure how much success we’ll have at getting any press on that one. The whole thing is kind of rude, just straight out asking for cash like that. Fuck it. Maybe it’ll work, maybe it won’t. If I was a betting man, you can guess where my marker would be. But at least it’s out there now and we can get on with figuring out how to make a decent record with whatever we end up with.
Tony said Lou rocked, which I find hard to believe. I loved the VU, but never could get into Lou solo. Kind of like how some people like tomato sauce but not tomatoes. It’s mysterious like that.
But, I’m back on the Treadmill to a point. I’ve been using songwriting as an excuse to take breaks from the mind numbing work of editing this video I’m working on. Editing is perhaps the most tedious process known to man. I spend every minute of every day with my wife, which is a good thing, but then to add having to stare at her on a computer screen for hours at a time talking about the ‘Pelvic Floor’... Well, I need a break now and then, to put it mildly.
So, of course, the Alamo’s Back Door is becoming a song, that’s a given. If you can think of a goodpejorative adjective that rhymes with Bowie, let me know. And there are two other new songs rumbling around- one on piano. The Old Photograph song seems to be unwilling to cooperate. No use forcing it. If it wants to join us, it will sometime. I’ll just starve it for awhile and see if it comes begging.
I’ve also started to try to bring back this acoustic/theatrical show again. We might be able to afford the little black box theater at usc, so I'm trying to work that out. It’s one of those ideas that now that it’s been put in my brain, we’re going to have to figure a way to do it one way or another. Maybe in Tony’s garage. If only there were basements in SC, a basement would be perfect. We don’t have anything else planned other than an outdoor show at the Sand Hills Concert Series in July. I have no idea where Sand Hills is and I’m sure it’s going to be a weird and awkward gig. But, we decided that we need to just make money to record with, so we’ll do anything that has that outcome.
I seem to have lost my little voice recorder, but as soon as I find it, I’ll post some of these new song ideas.
