Had another conference call today. We love the conference call now. This time Angie was on too along with Tony and Heidi. We locked down the contribution levels, decided on dates for the two shows in September, talked about percentages with the clubs and with Angie, blah blah. I think we’re all set. Now Angie just has to confirm the dates with the venues and we’re all set.
I emailed Dan Cook tonight to give him a hard time. He was never at the Free Times back in the day, so he never had to deal with me as a band publicist. I want a cover in September, and I’m going to do whatever it takes to try to make that happen. I’m sure Danny’s not going to think what we’re doing really warrants a cover- but that’s where my brutal unrelenting hounding will come in. Must... Have... Cover! Won’t get cover, but I will enjoy trying for it.
I suggested we do a couple of Neil Young tunes for the 3/15 show. H & T agreed right away, which is cool. I just watched Rust Never Sleeps for the billionth time, and god damn ,Neil is just the shit. I mean, the Druids and huge prop amps and shit! Awesome.
Still having some trouble getting the website together. Furr is just so busy. Patrick aka Warchild might throw some help our way. Went through a box of old photos last night and I’ll put them all on the ftp for the site. Can’t wait til that things up. I think we’ll be lucky if it gets up before the st pats show. Got all the content together for the New Album section and the Projection Project pages. Still working on the bio, which is super-hard. We’re trying to do a comprehensive from start to finish history, and shit, I just have a hard time remembering anything at all. Had to call my mom to employ her help on some faded details.
I have this dream of not having to drive down to Columbia for rehearsals. It’s cool- cause it’s not that bad of a drive and Jen’s family is there so the kids can hang with the cousins and stuff- but it’s a bit of a hassle. So, I had this idea that we could set up a laptop in the practice space and connect with iChat AV. I could plug my voice and guitars into pro tools on one computer and feed that into my laptop that would be connected with iChat AV. They could feed the audio out from the computer in the practice space into the PA and it’s like I’m fucking right there! But, of course- it won’t really work. Tony and I did a little test today, just me on acoustic and him playing drums on his desk- and I think that the delay is too much. But god damnit, how awesome would that be!
It did give me a good idea for a video, that we’ll totally do for one of the songs when the record is done. Just recording footage of each of us on ichat and editing it together into a video. I know- that sounds stupid, but it would be cool. Really. Mark my words and wait and see. Why are you always against me?
