More Treadmill Shows?
Tuesday, November 20, 2007
So, we’re trying to figure out what to do next. We’ve had this idea for awhile that we’d like to do shows in places that bands don’t usually play. Like, the YMCA Men’s Locker Room, or maybe an elementary school cafeteria. Heidi has mentioned the Art Museum, the Robert Mills House, or maybe Trustus, the Newberry Opera House... places like that. Somewhere that’s not a bar- but that we could turn into a bar and possibly burn down after sacrificing goat. I’m not sure I’m up to booking and promoting shows anymore. I just don’t think I have the time or patience for it anymore, but maybe we can find some help. People don’t understand how much work that shit is. We need help for sure.
I also have this idea that’s left over from the end of Treadmill for a massive projection project. You’ve seen bands that have ‘em, with the visuals flying around behind the band as they play, and for me- that kind of shit just adds so much to the experience of seeing live music, (especially when the lead singer is no fun to look at)... but I have some specific ideas for ours. It’s a bit of unfinished business that I feel could actually be wrapped up. I want to sort of make it a world wide effort - like- find a bunch of talented peeps on the internet, and just totally email them out of the blue to take part. Could work- I usually have good luck just plain old asking people for crazy stuff. If I’m excited about it, it’s usually pretty easy to get someone else excited about it too. Then again, that plan has failed miserably in the past too.
Anyway, we’re trying to figure out what to do show wise. Maybe we’ll try to get on St. Patty’s day this year and see if we can play that. We’ll see.
