I think the title of the record should be <\/em><\/p>\n Goodbye to Analog<\/em><\/p>\n Snow White Snow Volume 1<\/em><\/p>\n I like pretending that we’ll ever actually do the second half of the story.\u00a0 Goodbye to Analog is the newest song – and I freaking love it.\u00a0 From the woods to the field.\u00a0 From the static to the glass.\u00a0 It comes at a part when all three characters are sort of at a crossroads.\u00a0 All three of them are sort of ready to give up.\u00a0 And to escape this fact they ingest a rather serious amount of heroin.\u00a0 The idea of the song is that they are traveling from a mindset of hope, to a mindset of “everything sucks and it’s never going to get better…”\u00a0\u00a0 It’s like the tipping point.\u00a0 And musically – it’s like, saying goodbye to analog as if analog where sort of pure and innocent and hello to digital which is kind of cold and calculating.\u00a0 That’s not necessarily how I really feel, but…\u00a0 It’s also like, if you don’t embrace what’s coming anyway, you’re pretty much fucked.\u00a0 If you try to stand still when a big wave hits you – you’re going to fall over.\u00a0 But if you try to swim with it a little bit – you’ll have a better chance. This is also where Snow goes into her coma – which is more of an alternate universe than a coma.\u00a0 For her – saying goodbye to analog is the best thing she could possibly do.\u00a0 Her coma world is perfect – even if it’s not real.\u00a0 And even if it’s not real – if it’s perfect – what’s the difference?\u00a0 Why want to leave?\u00a0 Her biggest worry is that some asshole do-gooding prince will kiss her on the lips and wake her up.\u00a0 I’m getting into Matrix territory here I think.\u00a0 The good thing is that no one will know what the fuck anyway.\u00a0 The back story is mostly just for my amusement I guess.<\/p>\n Anyway – this song gets close to what I want to do between synth and acoustic guitar.\u00a0 And the vocal effect I want to use is different from anything we’ve done before.\u00a0 It’s pretty intense.\u00a0 I like it.\u00a0 But only for this song.\u00a0 For the drums, I really want to program the first half – and then go to acoustic drums, acoustic guitar in the second bit – then a mixture of both for the end.\u00a0 You feel me on this?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Well – I think Tony has scheduled his studio time at Archer.\u00a0 Got one demo back so far.\u00a0 Slow going this.
