Cruel Reminder
Here’s what’s changed. I used to walk through the woods and shoot at anything that happened to cross my path. Now – I tie something to a stake and walk around in wide varying repeating circles and shoot at the same thing from different angles until it’s completely mangled and bloody and unrecognizable.
For now, I like this new way much better. I think there will be three of these. i belong, then southern gothic, and then snow white. I’m digging it the way my uncle digs fly fishing. No need to mount a fish… just do the work to get it, enjoy the process, and throw it the hell back. Mounting it in this case would be putting out a record. And I’m really unsure we’re going to be able to do that again. So I’m trying to convince myself that the process of creating the thing is the good part, and the record part isn’t important. That’s a pretty tough sell, because I want more product out there with my name on it. But, I think that’s a separate thing.

Treadmill's Fund Raising Plan
I think it was over a month ago now that I sent Tony tapes so that he could put some stuff down, and he’s just now thinking about getting started. The band works in a different time zone. It takes a month to do what would take a day in real life. But I’m pretty serious about getting this out of the way in 2011. Really. I wish I knew how that was going to happen. We’ve sold exactly 3 copies of i belong, so we have to get this done for $30. That’s not even an hour at Archer Studio. So, the question is, how do we record, mix and master a record in less than an hour – especially when it takes us months to do the amount of work we do in our real lives in a day. I’ll tell you how. As soon as I figure it out. Don’t hold your breath. Don’t hold your breath on Tony sending me back some drum shit anytime soon either.
I’ve been drafting posts for each of these songs as they get written, but I’m kind of waiting to post them. I’m not sure why. But I think it has something to do with wanting to have a plan on how to get some money to record this sucker first. I have no idea why it matters. But we need some suggestions. Like, we were sort of thinking about this. Pressing CD’s is expensive, and CD’s are on their way out. So, what if we pressed some limited amount, like one or two hundred CD’s. We make ’em a little special somehow. Maybe have an added track on them or something. Some cool CD only artwork. I dunno. Something. But- we sell those as pre-sales now for 10 or 15 bucks. I guess we’d need to sell at least 200 of them to raise enough money to do anything. And when I try to project if that’s possible, the immediate answer is no way. No one’s going to buy them. I don’t think. So how the hell can we do it? I’m totally against asking for contributions again, not because I have any pride, but because I don’t think it’s going to work again.
