Rehearsals & Website & Guitar Lust
Monday, March 3, 2008
First off- thank god for the blog. It’s already cleared up a few miscommunications. Tony had read an installment where I was talking about how the video intro I’d done “wasn’t working for him”- which I thought meant, he thought it sucked- but it actually “wasn’t working for him” because the website was fucked up and he couldn’t view it. Anyway, now he thinks it’s too long- but I can’t bring myself to do any more on it.
Patrick sent a B&W version of what is really close to the image to be used on the website. I love it.
I don’t see how we’re going to make our March 7 deadline to have the website go live, but I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. And of course, I made the deadline March 7 knowing that we’d never make that. I just want it up and running by showtime.
I went to to Columbia on Saturday and Sunday to rehearse for the St Pat’s show. Started out a little shaky, but we made a lot of progress. I think I’ll need to go down there next Wednesday for one more run through and we’ll be good to go. We ran through Eileen, and okay- it’s kinda fun. We got to rehearse in Tony’s swank new studio, which is awesome.
My obsession with a new guitar has reached a fever pitch. And unfortunately, I have fallen in love with the Brian May Guitar. There’s a bunch of different versions, but there’s one by Guild and I think there’s only 1,000 of them out there in the world, and there are none for sale anywhere. I made the mistake of contacting Eric at Abalone Guitars in West Columbia. He’s who sold me my 3 Les Pauls- which are amazing guitars. But when I was in there buying those, it had come down to a choice between those and a couple of BMG’s he had in the store at that time. I’ve always meant to get one- because they’re incredible guitars. But they have too many switches. Switches scare me. It means I’ll have to figure something out, which I’m not a big fan of. I’m more of a plug and play sort of person. Anyway, Eric doesn’t have any BMG’s anymore, but said he’d look around for me.
Come on, are you not lusting after that guitar right now? Damnit. Could do without the whammy bar though.
